Outdoor Adventures

The outdoors has a way of shaping us—physically, mentally, and even professionally. For some, it starts as a hobby. For others, it becomes a lifelong passion that turns into a lifestyle, a mission, or even a brand.

In today’s episode of The Outdoor Muscle Show, I’m joined by someone who has turned his love for the outdoors into a family project and a content platform. We talk about fitness, gear, campfires, coffee, and what it really takes to build brand relationships in the outdoor space.

This conversation is a must-listen for anyone who loves exploring, reviewing gear, and creating content—or just wants to hear a great story from someone who’s been living the rugged lifestyle for decades.

JB | The Rugged Outdoorsmen

Today, I’m joined by JB, the co-founder of The Rugged Outdoorsmen—an Instagram account he started with his son Mike to document their adventures in Nevada. JB grew up fishing and hiking in New York, served in the U.S. Marine Corps, and worked in law enforcement where he also became a certified personal trainer. His background in discipline, service, and physical fitness carries over into everything he does outdoors.

With The Rugged Outdoorsmen, JB not only shares his love for hiking, camping, and field testing outdoor gear, but he also collaborates with brands like Timbertote campfires and Anglers Coffee to spotlight products that support the outdoor lifestyle.

In our conversation, JB shares his journey from fishing in the Northeast to building a community online with his son, what it takes to stay fit for adventure, and his best advice for anyone looking to break into the content and brand partnership world.
